I like the style you are looking for and I can see that you are inspired by some artists (monet or gogh). I'm pretty sure (or it looks like) its a concept for a story...looks definitely like a storytelling image. If thats what you were going for, then its nice! I would work more on composition for this piece. The rock in the foreground is very heavy on the right, i see you placed trees on the left but its a bit off balanced. The character (with the tail) is a bit stiff and could use some better colors.
Other than those little things, I am interested of what's going on with those two guys at the river or lake (and those little guys behind him).
